hello! i’m shanise

I am a queer, Chinese American woman with Hong Kong roots living with a chronic health condition in a world shaped by many systems that create barriers for people like me. My mission is to challenge those systems and empower you to do so as well by helping you discover your individual needs and find meaning along the way.

I offer telehealth throughout California and in-person sessions at Havenly Counseling Collective in Los Gatos in the San Francisco Bay Area. 我在全加州提供線上心理諮商/治療服務,並於灣區洛斯加托斯(Los Gatos)的 Havenly Counseling Collective 提供實體面談治療。

therapy with me is collaborative.

I believe healing is not linear, and I aim to support you in finding comfort within discomfort by exploring creative approaches that align with your unique needs. I want to do therapy with you. This experience and relationship can feel new and vulnerable and I recognize that safety is ultimately co-created. Together, let’s discover ways we can gently bring back genuine, meaningful play and color into life again.

I emphasize the present moment, always through a multicultural, feminist, and queer-affirmative lens. I also bring my diverse background in nonprofit museums and education to my practice, integrating creative and science-backed perspectives.

what brings me joy

I enjoy being in nature, tending to my carnivorous plants, visiting museums, and learning fun facts about dinosaurs and ancient marine reptiles.

You will find me in colorful, loudly patterned, or maximalist fashion as it reminds me to approach life with more whimsy and to take care of the child in me.

My natural habitat is my couch where I can cozy up with my two dogs and watch reality TV shows.

On days when none of the above interests me, I spend my free time yelling into the void. We can do it together!
